Monday, 24 January 2022 (YJC)_ Foreign Ministry Spokesman said that Iran will never accept any precondition for JCPOA talks.
Speaking in his weekly press conference on Monday, Foreign Ministry Spokesman Saeed Khatibzadeh said that Iran will never accept any precondition for JCPOA talks.
While referring to the current round of Vienna talks (8th round), Khatibzadeh noted that the progress of the talks is on the right track.
He said that one of the achievements through the current talks is that “all parties now agreed the steps taken after the US unilateral withdrawal of the JCPOA, should not be repeated and in some documents some issues and differences have been resolved.”
He went on to add that “Over the past month, the process has been steadily and slowly moving forward, and we are closer to reach an agreement.”
Khatibzadeh also reacted to the recent remarks made by US Special Envoy for Iran’s Affairs Robert Malley in which he set a precondition for Washington's return to the JCPOA and noted that “Iran has not accepted any preconditions and will not do so.”
Finally, he blasted the US Secretary of State for imposing artificial deadlines and noted Iran wants Americans “to speed up instead of making artificial deadlines.”
