Saturday, 22 January 2022 (YJC)_ al-Shammari outlined the challenges facing Iraqi Shi’ahs in the aftermath of the parliamentary elections, noting that the American government is seeking to impose its political will on weak political figures, especially in the position of the prime minister.

Spokesman of al-Nujaba: The US wants to bring weak figures to power/ Post-election challenges for Iraqi Shi’ahsAccording to the website of the representative office of al-Nujaba in Iran, in an exclusive interview with Mehr News Agency, Nasr al-Shammari, the official spokesman of the al-Nujaba Islamic Resistance Movement in Iran, said that dominating over Iraq’s sovereignty was Washington’s first concern and added that the Americans were trying to put weak figures at the helm of the country’s political leadership.

al-Shammari cited the convergence of Iraqi Sunni and Kurdish parties with the United States, Israel, Turkey and the Persian Gulf states as a challenge to weaken Shi’ah groups and create divisions among them.

Emphasizing that the American embassy is a military base and a legitimate target for anti-occupation activist groups, he added that members of the Resistance Coordination Committee have removed the site from their list of targets.

The full text of this conversation is as follows:

What is the relationship between the presence of the United States and the new political situation in Iraq? Is it an attempt to justify the survival of American forces in Iraq?

A military presence in Iraq has not been the United States’ primary concern since ۲۰۰۳; Although it is very important to them and they insist on achieving many goals through it. However, the United States’ first concern is to dominate over the political, economic and security will and sovereignty of Iraq.

Perhaps the most important need for the United States to have a military presence is to strengthen its dominance over Iraq’s sovereignty and perhaps what helped increase the hegemony of the United States is the presence of weak figures at the helm of Iraq’s political leadership.

Thus, the United States is working to ensure that weak figures become prime ministers and that they are isolated from the people so that they can use American help to protect and ensure their survival in power. This allows the United States to justify the survival of its forces in Iraq and its continued control over the will of the government, important parts of Iraq’s internal affairs, especially the oil and electricity sector, as well as foreign relations.

In any case, these weak justifications and positions are no longer convincing as the Iraqi forces increase their capabilities and the frustration of the people of the country with providing any solution to the problems that have remained for twenty years is no longer convincing.

Recently, we witnessed several planned and targeted attacks against the United States’ embassy in the Green Zone of Baghdad. Who is behind these attacks and for what purpose?

First of all, it should be noted that the United States’ embassy is, in fact, a large military barracks and a den of spies to dominate over the situation in Iraq and play with its destiny, will and even its social context. Does any sane person think that the embassy of a country has more than eleven thousand employees, most of whom are professional military personnel?! In addition to armoured weapons, there are runways, combat helicopters and air defence systems.

All this proves that the place is not just an embassy, and therefore it is their natural and legitimate right if any of the Islamic Resistance groups decides to confront this military barracks.

However, groups of members of the Resistance Coordination Committee announced that they would consider the barracks as an embassy and remove it from their list of targets but it is unlikely that the American occupying forces or their agents would carry out such attacks themselves for political-propaganda purposes.

Of course, we emphasize and repeat that this place is a military barracks and a den of spies and targeting it is a natural right of the Islamic Resistance.

In the current situation, what is the purpose of attacking the offices of political parties, especially the office of the al-Azm (Determination) Alliance and the office of the Taqaddum (Progress) Party [Sunni political organizations]?

It is clear that the alliance between the al-Azm Alliance and Taqaddum Party is a fragile alliance similar to the mixed medicine of a druggist, which was formed under pressure from the United States, the Persian Gulf countries, Turkey and Israel.

Their only point of convergence is to target the unity of the Shi’ahs in exchange for the wealth of the Shi’ahs. It seems very natural and almost certain that if one party violates its obligations to the other, the alliance will fall apart.

Everyone knows that the relationship between them was the worst during the election period and the leaders of the two coalitions described each other with the ugliest and worst descriptions and this conflict may soon reach a dangerous level.

What movements are seeking to create divisiveness among Shi’ah groups? Will the political process in Iraq succeed if the Shi’ahs are not united?

The main parties trying to undermine the unity of Shi’ah groups and turn them from a majority to a minority in the political process are the political partners of the Kurds, Sunnis and the Persian Gulf states, who act on the orders of the United States. Of course, the United States is the main player, and behind it are the Zionist regime and the Turkish government, each of which is moving towards its own goal, but they also have a common goal, which is to weaken the Shi’ahs.

The political partners in Iraq want a weak partner to whom they can dictate their will because their weakness guarantees their continued dominance and the possibility of operating outside the central government.

The motives of the Persian Gulf states are religious hatred and sectarianism on one hand and American-Zionist orders on the other.

The United States’ goal is to weaken Iraq and create internal divisions in order to maintain its control over the political will and prolong the presence and survival of the occupying forces.

The Israeli regime also intends to weaken and divide Iraq on the basis of Zionist ideology because this regime considers Iraq the most dangerous enemy of the fake Israeli government.

Turkey is also taking the approach of redrawing the map of the region and annexing parts of Iraqi territory to its territory.

All these purposes can only be achieved by weakening the Shi’ahs and dividing them because the Shi’ahs are the biggest weight and at the same time, the main opponent of such ambitions.
