Friday, 21 January 2022 (YJC)_ The president of the United States said that the legitimacy of the next elections in this country will depend on the approval or not of the election reform bill, which was rejected in the US Senate.

The two American parties are trying to win the congressional election through undemocratic processesUS President Joe Biden has said that the legitimacy of the next election (midterm congressional elections) will depend on whether or not the bill, which was rejected by the Senate, is approved.

According to Hill News, Biden said:
I'm not saying it's supposed to have legitimacy. The rise of the prospect of corporate illegitimacy is directly related to our inability to pass an [election] amendment.

The president added that he was not disappointed with the passage of the bill in the US Congress and that "if this attempt fails today, you will not see me and the Democratic Party abandoning it."

However, according to USA Today, in the US Senate meeting on Wednesday night, all Republican senators opposed the bill in the court for the final vote, and the bill was eventually rejected by a difference of two votes.

Republicans oppose the bill, saying Democrats want to weaken voter identification laws and allow illegal immigrants to vote in order to win more votes.

Democrats, on the other hand, say they introduced the bill in response to Republican action against minority suffrage. Since the defeat of former US President Donald Trump in the 2020 presidential election, Republicans in their states have passed laws restricting voter turnout.

It was in September this year that the Republican majority in the Texas State Legislature passed the Electoral Restrictions Bill. The speaker of the Texas state legislature had warned lawmakers at a meeting to pass the election restrictions bill that they had no right to use the word "racist" in their comments on the bill.

The bill came as Democrats from the Texas state legislature traveled to Washington a month and a half ago to prevent the quorum from reaching the state House of Representatives.

Critics say both the Republican and Democratic parties are trying to ensure their victory in the midterm congressional elections through the undemocratic process of determining who can or will not run in the next congressional election.

Trump recently said in an interview referring to allegations of election fraud:
People do not know how big this issue (fraud) is and they (pro-Trump Republicans) do not want it to happen again. This should not be allowed to happen again and they do not want it to happen again.

"And the only way to prevent this from happening again is to solve the problem of a rigged 2020 election," Trump said.
