Wednesday, 19 January 2022 (YJC)_ The Office of the EU Representative in Palestine has reacted to the extension of the administrative detention of a Palestinian teenager for the fourth time in a row.
The Office of the EU Representative in Palestine called on the Zionist regime to end its policy of administrative detention (detention without trial).
For the fourth time in a row, the Zionist regime extended the detention of "Amal Muammar Nakhla" (17 years old) until May 18, 2022.
In response to the Israeli decision, the EU representative office wrote on its Twitter account:
Amal has been detained since January 21, 2021 and has spent almost a year in prison without charge.
The Zionist regime enforces an old British law, according to which it detains Palestinians for three to six months without trial and under the pretext of having a secret case, which can be extended.
The EU's representative also wrote that Amal suffers from a severe autoimmune disease and that her imprisonment poses a serious risk to her health, and that international law should protect children and adolescents from administrative detention without charge.
