Wednesday, 19 January 2022 (YJC)_ While diplomats announced progress in the Vienna talks, the German foreign minister said after meeting with his Russian counterpart that there was little time to maintain the JCPOA and that the talks needed progress.

Germany: Progress is needed in the Vienna talks to maintain orderAfter meeting with Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov on Tuesday, German Foreign Minister Alena Bayerbuk stated that progress was needed in the Vienna talks to lift unilateral and illegal sanctions against Iran.

According to the Russian news agency Sputnik, referring to the current Vienna talks, Bayerbok claimed that there was not much time left to revive the JCPOA and that progress was needed in the talks.

He said in this regard:
We need progress in the negotiations because there is very little time left to save this agreement (JCPOA).

The remarks came as diplomats at the Wall Street Journal reported Monday that diplomats had agreed on some details during talks on lifting sanctions in Vienna.

The Wall Street Journal claims that the Vienna talks on lifting sanctions have made progress on some important details, including how sanctions will be lifted, how Iran will return to its nuclear commitments, and how the agreement will be implemented.

The American newspaper, quoting diplomats involved in the ongoing talks in the Austrian capital, said that one of the biggest obstacles to the progress of the talks was Iran's request for a guarantee from the United States that it would not withdraw from the JCPOA.

Despite this article, the newspaper needs to make some political decisions in the areas of lifting sanctions, taking nuclear steps and sequencing the implementation of the agreement.
