Berlin: We are ready for a serious dialogue with Russia

Tuesday, 18 January 2022 (YJC)_ Following a visit to the Ukrainian capital, German Foreign Minister Annalla Bayerbock will travel to Russia on Tuesday (today) to hold talks with German officials on Berlin-Moscow relations and recent tensions.

Berlin: We are ready for a serious dialogue with RussiaOn the eve of his visit to Russia, the German Foreign Minister announced that Berlin wants a stable relationship with Moscow.

German Foreign Minister Analna Bayerbuk, who arrived in Kiev on Monday (yesterday) and met with her Ukrainian counterpart as well as the President of Ukraine, will travel to Russia today (Tuesday).

The senior German official wrote on his Twitter page:
Today in Moscow, I want to state my position: We want stable relations and we are ready to have a serious discussion about steps towards greater security for all in Europe. Our standard remains the basic principles of our order, peace and security.

The German Foreign Minister's tweet came as his remarks in Kiev yesterday and his warning to Russia about an "invasion of Ukraine" provoked a reaction from the Russian Foreign Ministry.

In a warning to Moscow, Analna Bayerbuk said that escalating confrontation with Ukraine would have serious political and economic consequences and a heavy price for Russia.
