According to Reuters, Proshenko, the former president of Ukraine, arrived at Kiev airport from the airport in the Polish capital Warsaw.

The former Ukrainian official accused border guards and officers of confiscating his passport. After leaving Kiev airport, Petro Poroshenko addressed a gathering of supporters outside the airport in the Ukrainian capital.

He and critics of the government of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky have accused Zelensky of accusing the former president of diverting attention from the country's problems.

Former Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko has long been under investigation for allegedly betraying Russian-backed separatist rebels from 2014 to 2015 through the illegal sale of coal.
