Sunday, 16 January 2022 (YJC)_ In a meeting with Secretary General's Special Envoy for Syria, Iranian Foreign Minister stressed the need for resolving the problems of sanctions in Syria.
In a meeting with Secretary General's Special Envoy for Syria Geir Pedersen in Tehran, Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir Abdollahian stressed the need for resolving the problems of sanctions in Syria.
“The crisis in Syria will not be resolved without paying attention to the issues of sanctions and the displaced and refugees,” Iranian FM said while appreciating UN special envoy's help to the national dialogue for peace and stability.
He went on to refer to the illegitimate presence of the US forces in Syria and Zionist regime of Israel's attack on the country and urged the international community and the UN to pay attention to these issues.
For, his part, Geir Pedersen described the Syrian situation as stable and underlined the need to preserve national sovereignty.
