So far, 26 people have been nominated for the presidency, of which 11 are Kurdish personalities, including Shilan Fouad.

He added that given the fierce competition between the two major Kurdish parties, the Kurdistan Democratic Party and the Patriotic Union, he would contact various factions and political parties to gain their support in parliament for the presidency.

Shilan Fouad clarified that he is not facing any problem in running for the post and is negotiating with the leaders of the factions and parties in this regard and will announce the details in the next two days.

She explained that she was once in charge of women's affairs at the Iraqi Ministry of Defense and was running for the presidency to consolidate the role of women in the post.

Fouad said that he has a special project and plan to deal with the political, economic and social problems and crises in Iraq, and he also has plans for security, poverty and unemployment.
