Top-ranking Iranian and US diplomats on Sunday held their second bilateral talks since negotiations for reaching a comprehensive nuclear deal started in Vienna a day earlier.
According to a report by Islamic Republic News Agency, Iranian
Foreign Minister's deputies Majid Takht Ravanchi and Abbas Araqchi held talks
with US Undersecretary of State William Burns and Wendy Sherman, the US top
negotiator in Iran talks to explore possible formulas for a deal with just five
days left to a Nov. 24 deadline.
The Iranian and US diplomats held their first bilateral
talks in the new round of negotiations in Vienna on Tuesday and when joined by
EU coordinator Catherine Ashton's deputy Helga Schmid, the talks continued trilaterally.
US Secretary of State John Kerry is due to visit Paris on
Thursday to meet with French Foreign Minister Laurent Fabius for talks over
Iran's nuclear program.
The second day of the last round of talks prior to the deadline comes to an
end is set to start on Wednesday with bilateral meetings between deputy foreign
minister from Iran and the Americana and European representatives.
Iran and the P5+1 – the US, Britain, France, China, Russia, and Germany -
are working to reach at a comprehensive deal after they clinched an interim
nuclear accord last November that took effect on January 20 and expired six
months later.
