Saberi: Iran has no restrictions on developing relations with Tajikistan"Mohammad Taghi Saberi," our ambassador to Tajikistan, wrote in a message on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the Islamic Republic of Iran and the Republic of Tajikistan:

January 9, 2022 marks the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the Islamic Republic of Iran and the Republic of Tajikistan. The relations between the two countries are based on ancient and inseparable cultural, religious, civilizational, historical and linguistic ties. Congratulations to the government and people of Tajikistan on this auspicious occasion.

The Islamic Republic of Iran was one of the first countries to recognize the independence of the Tajik government and was the first country to establish an embassy in Dushanbe, thus beginning the political relations between the two cultured and Iranian-speaking countries and Tajikistan.

The Islamic Republic of Iran has always supported peace and stability in the Republic of Tajikistan and has played an active and important role in achieving it. He took the lead in ending the civil war in the country and hosted several rounds of Tajik peace talks.

No country has as close ties to the Republic of Tajikistan as the Islamic Republic of Iran because of the racial, historical, cultural, religious and linguistic affinities of the two countries. The Republic of Tajikistan has a high position in the foreign policy of the Islamic Republic of Iran. The Supreme Leader of the Islamic Republic of Iran referred to the relations between the two countries as "kinship relations" and due to the importance of the Republic of Tajikistan, Dr. Raeisi, the President of the Islamic Republic of Iran, chose this country as the destination of his first foreign trip. Mr. Emomali Rakhmon, President of the Republic of Tajikistan, also used the term "flesh and nails" to describe the ties between Iran and Tajikistan.
