Thursday, 13 January 2022 (YJC)_ In a letter to the Secretary-General of the United Nations and the Security Council, the Ambassador of the Palestinian Authority called for the implementation of international law to compel the Zionist regime to stop systematic attacks on the Palestinian people and territory.
Riyad Mansour, the Palestinian Authority ambassador to the United Nations, stressed that the non-accountability of the Israeli occupation regime for its aggression against the Palestinian people makes it more ruthless in committing more crimes.
According to Al-Quds Al-Arabi, in three letters to the UN Secretary General, the current President of the Security Council (Norway) and the President of the UN General Assembly, Mansour described the illegal policies and behaviors of the Zionist regime and the Zionist settlers against the Palestinian people. Crimes are called systematic human rights violations.
The ambassador of the Palestinian Authority to the United Nations said:
When Israel is not held accountable under international law, it becomes more reckless in its illegal colonization of Palestinian land and the looting of Palestinian property.
Mansour called 2021 the bloodiest year in Palestine since the 2014 military aggression against Gaza:
324 Palestinians, including 86 children, were killed in all occupied Palestinian territories, including East Jerusalem.
He added:
The policy of demolishing Palestinian homes has reached unprecedented levels, in addition to the Zionists' provocative actions in illegally entering the holy sites of Jerusalem, including the Al-Aqsa Mosque and the Jerusalem churches, all of which are clear violations of the historical and legal status of these holy sites.
The ambassador also addressed the issue of repeated attacks by Zionist settlers on Palestinian towns and villages, their terror, harassment of Palestinians, destruction of their property and vehicles, or burning of their homes, in addition to the Zionist pursuit of Palestinians.
