Tehran, YJC. Head of Iran's Red Crescent Society Mohammad Farhadi says he is interested in working as the minister of science.
Farhadi whose name has been mentioned as a choice for the
post of minister of science in interview with Mehr news agency said "I am
interested in the job; besides, we have much work to do there.”
Pointing to the fact that he has become the Rouhani
administration’s next choice to be introduced to the Majlis for a vote of
confidence, he said "Every time the
issue is brought up, my name also appears there.”
Farhadi was born in 1949 in Shahroud, Semnan.
He holds a doctoral degree in otorhinolaryngology from Mashhad
Medical School.
He has acted as the minister of culture and higher education
as well as health minister in previous administrations.
Farhadi is the 5th nominee proposed by President Rouhani for
the post of minister of science, research and technology.
On November 18, members of the Majlis voted against the previously proposed Ahmadi
Danesh-Ashtiani, the fourth nominee for the post.
