Tuesday, 11 January 2022 (YJC)_ Russia's representative in the talks said that the representatives of the JCPOA member states, without the presence of Iran, held a meeting with the US representative to review the texts.
Russia's representative to the Vienna talks, Mikhail Ulyanov, announced a meeting of the P4+1 and the United States, without Iran, to compare texts.
Ulyanov tweeted Tuesday morning:
This was an almost short meeting. In order to avoid any ambiguity in this regard, I must emphasize that in many situations, members of the JCPOA, including Iran, meet without the presence of the United States.
He also announced in another tweet that he had a separate meeting with "Robert Mali", the US Special Representative for Iran, and wrote:
Our bilateral talks are based on a single purpose (the revival of the JCPOA) and are very pragmatic.
Earlier on Monday, eight days after the start of the eighth round of Vienna talks on lifting sanctions, consultations were held in various formats and at various levels, with the participation of Iranian delegations and the P4+1 group and the coordinator of the JCPOA Joint Commission.
