Monday, 10 January 2022 (YJC)_ Iranian Foreign Minister said the Vienna talks have been positive so far, and that an agreement is possible if the other side shows seriousness.
In an interview with the state TV, Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir Abdollahian said the Vienna talks have been positive so far, and that an agreement is possible if the other side shows seriousness.
“We will be able to reach a good agreement ASAP, in case of all parties being serious, so far negotiations are positive and moving forward,” he noted while adding Iran’s proposal have been declared in a clear manner.
“US sought a host of concessions from Iran in return for giving one simple concession during the current round of talks, Iran’s initiatives have put the negotiations on right track. We are close to a good agreement, if all parties returned to their obligations under the JCPOA, especially the US, then Iran will do so.” Iranian Foreign Minister said while expressing the hope that a good agreement would be reached by the Vienna talks.
He went on to say that the aim of Iran’s delegation currently in Vienna is to lift sanctions and added “The Iranian president also emphasizes that the country’s fate should not be tied to the negotiations.”
Prior to this, Iran’s lead negotiator Ali Baqeri Kani referred to the good progress of Vienna talks on removal of sanctions and said that the two sides are now trying to resolve issues.
Also, addressing the open session of the Iranian Parliament on Sunday, Iranian President Ebrahim Raeisi referred to the current Vienna talks and said the removal of sanctions has been pursued in a dignified manner.
