A fire in the Bronx area of New York City on Sunday killed at least 19 people, including nine children.
Sputnik also reported that at least 60 people were injured in the blaze, with a number of seriously injured.
New York Mayor Eric Adams described the blaze as one of the worst in the city's history.
"It's one of the worst fires we've ever seen in modern New York City," he said in an interview.
The fire broke out in a 19-story building in the Bronx at 11 a.m. The fire reportedly started on the third floor, but the fire and smoke spread to other floors.
New York City official Daniel Nigro said the flames engulfed the two floors, but the smoke from the fire engulfed all 19 floors.
