Sunday, 9 January 2022 (YJC)_ The new Palestinian ambassador to Iran has been sworn in as head of the Palestinian Authority in Amman.

The new Palestinian ambassador to Iran was sworn in before Mahmoud AbbasMs. Salam Al-Zawawi has been appointed the new Palestinian Ambassador to the Islamic Republic of Iran.

According to Al-Mayadin, she was sworn in on Saturday night (last night) in front of Mahmoud Abbas, the head of the Palestinian Authority.

The ceremony took place at Mahmoud Abbas's residence in Amman, the Jordanian capital, and was attended by Majdi al-Khalidi, Abbas's diplomatic adviser, and Ramzi Khoury, director general of the Palestinian National Fund.

Salam al-Zawawi is the daughter of the former Palestinian ambassador to Tehran, Salah al-Zawawi, and is the second Palestinian ambassador to Iran since the victory of the Islamic Revolution.

Salah al-Zawawi has been the Palestinian ambassador to Iran since 1982. He is a founding member of the Fatah movement and has been the former Palestinian ambassador to Algeria, Brazil and Kenya.
