Friday, 31 December 2021 (YJC)_ Defense Ministry Spokesman announced the successful lunch of Iran’s home-made satellite carrier.
Defense Ministry Spokesman Ahmad Hosseini announced that carrying 3 research devices, Iran’s home-made satellite carrier, Simorq (Phoenix), was successfully launched into space.
“Three research devices were launched simultaneously at an altitude of 470 kilometers and at a speed of 7,350 meters per second and that is the first time such a thing happens,” he announced.
“The intended research goals of the mission were fulfilled, this mission followed several achievements in Iran’s civilian space program,” he added while noting Iran will speed up its work to become one of the six countries that can launch satellites into the GEO orbit.
Prior to this, ran’s Imam Khomeini Space Center successfully launched the Simorq carrier with a mission of putting satellites into the orbit, in 2017.
