Thursday, 30 December 2021 (YJC)_Iran’s top negotiator said relatively good progress was made in first few days of new round of JCPOA talks.

Bagheri Kani: Good Progresses Made in New Rounds of Vienna TalksWhile referring to the current Vienna talks, Ali Bagheri Kani Iran’s top negotiator said relatively good progress was made in first few days of new round of talks.

“The main focus of talks was on the lifting sanctions, so interaction between Iranian side and other JCPOA party continued. In achieving so, meetings were held between Iranian side and JCPOA Joint Commission coordinator and also a separate meeting was held with envoys of E3,” he said.

He went on to express his hope that after a few days of break due to the end of New Year holidays, talks will begin more seriously.

This reound of Vienna talks (8th round) began on Monday with the aim of lifting sanctions against Iran.  Discussions on Wednesday are continuing at various levels.

Last night, the Iranian Foreign Minister, Hossein Amir-Abdollahian said that reaching an agreement will be possible if the other parties negotiate in good faith and said “Vienna negotiations are on the right track. Now Iranian team have a common and fixed text to be focused on. If the other parties continue the negotiations in good faith, it is possible for all parties to reach a good agreement.”
