Thursday, 30 December 2021 (YJC)_ Mikhail Ulyanov, Russia's envoy to the Vienna talks, and Robert Mali, the US special envoy for Iran, met for the second time to discuss the "revival of the JCPOA".
Russia's envoy to the Vienna-based international body announced in a Twitter message that he had met for the second time in a day with talks on "reviving the JCPOA."
Russia's envoy to the Vienna talks, Mikhail Ulyanov, who is in charge of Moscow's representation in Vienna-based international institutions, met again Wednesday night (Tehran time) with Robert Malley, the US special envoy for Iran.
According to Ulyanov's Twitter message, "I met for the second time this evening (Wednesday, Vienna time) with Robert Malley, the US Special Representative for Iran."
Explaining the meeting, the senior Russian diplomat continued:
We maintain intensive and, I believe, useful discussions during the Vienna talks on the objective way to revive the JCPOA.
The meeting between Ulyanov and Malley in Vienna took place in the context of the first meeting between the representatives of Russia and the United States in the Vienna talks on Wednesday evening (yesterday, Tehran time).
Explaining his first meeting with Malley, the Moscow representative wrote on Twitter:
Close consultations and coordination between the Russian and US delegations during the Vienna talks are an important precondition for progress in reviving the JCPOA.
