Iranian Judiciary Deputy Chief and Secretary-General of Iran's Human Rights Headquarters Kazzem Gharibabadi announced that before March 20 the trial of the assassination of Marty Soleimani will be held.
“Indictment for over 40 perpetrators of General Soleimani’s assassination will be submitted to Tehran Court of Justice and the court will be held before the end of the current Iranian year,” he announced.
“a 300-page document, including information about the 70 defendants and suspects has been presented to the Iraqi side, Iraq is the country in which this crime has been committed and a lawsuit has ben filed there, Iraq has also presented information on the defendants to Iran.” he noted while calling former US President Donald Trump and the US officials responsible for this crime.
Prior to this, last night, Gharibabadi announced that Iran has presented hundreds of documents to the Iraqi government on the assassination of Martyr Soleimani.
Before that, last week, he announced that Iran and Iraq have signed a joint statement on the investigation on the assassination of Martyr Soleimani and said “The Iranian delegation gave their Iraqi counterpart documents and information related to the role and intervention of the American defendants and now the judiciary of the two countries would conduct additional investigations in that regard.”
On January 3, 2020, in an attack ordered by then US President Donald Trump, General Soleimani and Abu Mahdi Al-Muhandis and ten of their deputies were martyred by an armed drone strike as their convoy left Baghdad International Airport.
