Naryshkin in Tehran on Monday said the Russian parliamentary delegation visit to Tehran is a good chance
for a new round of Tehran-Moscow relations, the Expediency Council Public
Relations Office reported on Monday.
Pointing to recent talks between President Hassan Rouhani and his Russia counterpart
Mr. President Vladimir Putin, the expediency chief emphasized the cooperation
capacity between the two countries, adding that expansion of ties is going to
be beneficial to both countries today and in the future.
He stated that cooperation in education and research between the two countries is
highly valuable, adding that such cooperation could be a base for stronger
bonds for both private and public sectors.
Strengthening bilateral cooperation, especially in the fields of oil and gas,
is valuable for both countries and stronger cooperation will contribute to the
convergence of littoral states of the sea, maintained Rafsanjani.
Naryshkin, brought up the memories of ayatollah Rafsanjani's visit to former
Soviet Union during which important agreements were signed and said that
Russians consider the ayatollah as the founder of bilateral relations between
the two countries.
He stressed interactions between officials of the two counties for coordination
on regional and global issues and asserted that regional developments are
highly dependent on Iran-Russia relations.
