Monday, 27 December 2021 (YJC)_ Russia's envoy to international organizations in Vienna hailed the recent remarks by the head of Iran's Atomic Energy Organization about the level of uranium enrichment as a positive message.
Russia's representative to international organizations in Vienna, Mikhail Ulyanov, wrote on his Twitter page:
Mohammad Eslami, head of the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran, said Tehran would not exceed 60 percent uranium enrichment. This is a positive message on the eve of the eighth round of Vienna talks, which will begin tomorrow.
Ulyanov's remarks follow an interview with Sputnik in response to the question of whether Iran would enrich uranium above 60% if the JCPOA members failed to revive the JCPOA and lift US sanctions on Tehran?
He emphasized: No.
He clarified:
The purpose of Iran's nuclear program is to support the needs of the country's industrial production and also to meet the needs of Iranian consumers for certain goods.
Islami further stated:
All our nuclear activities are in accordance with the agreements, statutes and regulations of the International Atomic Energy Agency.
