The Iraqi Foreign Ministry announced that Baghdad Ambassador to Moscow Abdul Rahman al-Husseini is attending the 17th Astana Summit in the Kazakh city of Noor Sultan.
According to Al-Ahd, "Ahmed Al-Sahaf", the spokesman of the Iraqi Ministry of Foreign Affairs, referring to the presence of Iraq as an observer member in this meeting, said:
Al-Husseini will hold talks with delegations from Syria, Jordan, Lebanon, Russia, Iran, Turkey and the United Nations.
Al-Sahaf added:
Baghdad's ambassador to Moscow stressed Iraq's firm position in support of a peaceful political solution and its emphasis on Syria's territorial integrity.
The 17th Astana Summit on Syria is being held yesterday in the Kazakh capital, Nursultan, with delegations from Iran, Russia, Turkey, Syria, the opposition and Lebanon and Iraq as observers.
