Friday, 24 December 2021 (YJC)_ Iranian President said that Iran has always supported the formation of a strong government in Iraq.
In a meeting with the visiting Iraqi Foreign Minister Fuad Hussein and his entourage in Tehran, Iranian President Ebrahim Raeisi said that Iran has always supported the formation of a strong parliament and government in Iraq.
“We witness protest against election in any democratic system, it is important that both the protests and responses to them take place in legal processes,” Raiesi said.
He went on to say that Iraq’s insecurity is the one of Iran and added “Iran is determined to support stability in Iraq and the power of the Iraqi government.”
Elsewhere in his remarks he referred to the US withdrawal from Iraq and said that “Resistance of the Iraqi people and officials made this success otherwise the Americans would not have left.”
For his part, Iraqi Foreign Minister Fuad Hussein appreciated Iran's policy of resolutely supporting Iraq's stability and security.
