Friday, 24 December 2021 (YJC)_ Tajikistan's Deputy Minister of Economic Development and Trade called for the establishment of joint food production companies with the Islamic Republic of Iran in the country's free economic zones.
Tajik Deputy Minister of Economic Development and Trade Abdul Rahman Abdul Rahmanzadeh and Prinaz Pishdadian, head of the Fekr Bartar Iran Trade Center, met.
In order to further develop trade and economic cooperation, the Tajik side proposed to the Iranian side the establishment of joint mineral water production companies, as well as cultural tomato paste and canned products in the economic freedom zones of Tajikistan.
Pishdadian, in turn, welcomed the Tajik side's proposal, noting that the initiative would further strengthen trade and economic co-operation between the two countries.
The two sides also discussed issues related to the preparation and signing of a memorandum of understanding on cooperation between Tajikistan's free economic zones and the Islamic Republic's "Fekr Bartar" business center, as well as important issues of trade, economic and investment cooperation.
It should be said that in the 11 months of 2021, the turnover between the two countries is estimated at $ 93.2 million, which is $ 44.6 million more than the same period in 2020.
The share of mutual trade with Iran in the total turnover of Tajikistan during this period was 1.7 percent and it is in the ninth place in the structure of foreign trade of this country.
