US National Security Adviser Jake Sullivan yesterday (Wednesday) stressed that the current Vienna talks on reviving the JCPOA and lifting sanctions against Iran are likely to end in a few weeks, saying the United States and its partners are discussing Regarding the time frame for continuing nuclear diplomacy with Iran.
According to Reuters, Sullivan told reporters during a visit to occupied Palestine:
We do not explicitly specify a date on the calendar, but I can tell you that behind closed doors, we are talking about a time frame, and this (time frame) is not long.
"Weeks," Sullivan told reporters when asked about transparency in the timetable.
US officials who have been trying to drop the ball on Iranian soil since the start of the seventh round of Vienna talks on lifting Washington's unilateral sanctions against the Islamic Republic have not only failed to take concrete steps to advance the Vienna talks, but are also trying to make up for their shortcomings. They have blamed Iran, and have recently stated many times that if they think diplomacy with Iran is at a standstill, they will resort to other methods to counter Iran's nuclear program.
"The United States continues to believe that 'diplomacy, deterrence, and pressure' is the best way to prevent Iran from acquiring nuclear weapons," Sullivan told reporters.
