Wednesday, 22 December 2021 (YJC)_ Russia's representative in the Vienna talks, likening the previous US administration's withdrawal from the JCPOA to self-immolation, announced his meeting with the Kuwaiti representative on the UN Security Council and security talks in the Persian Gulf.
Mikhail Ulyanov, Russia's envoy to the Vienna-based International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), likened the withdrawal of the former US administration led by Donald Trump from the Iran nuclear deal to suicide.
Reacting to a tweet from an American journalist criticizing the Trump administration's decision to leave JCPOA, Ulyanov said Wednesday morning:
Exactly! The decision to leave JCPOA was like shooting one of America's legs. Of course, it does not matter if the foot was left or right.
He then announced in another tweet that he had met with Kuwait's representative to international organizations based in Vienna, Sadegh Murad, to discuss Iran and the nuclear deal.
The Russian diplomat wrote on his Twitter page:
Today I met with my good friend Sadegh Intro, the representative of Kuwait. I gave him a brief account of the current state of affairs in the Vienna negotiations. We also talked about the prospects for security talks in the Persian Gulf after the revival of the JCPOA.
