Tuesday, 21 December 2021 (YJC)_ Iran has unveiled its first home-made marine diesel engine.
Iran has unveiled its first home-made marine diesel engine in a ceremony on Tuesday in the presence of Iran's Army-Navy Commander Rear Admiral Shahram Irani and Vice-President for Science and Technology Sorena Sattari.
This large Iranian-made diesel marine engine is entitled as "Makran" which was unveiled and inaugurated by largest marine industry innovation factory in Bushehr in the south of Iran and some other naval achievements.
It has a power of 3600 hp and is capable of increasing the speed of military vessels up to 30 knots.
Uring this ceremony, while referring to this engine Admiral Irani announced that the young experts inside the country designed this machine and noted it is going to be installed on the Iranian warships.
According to him, “There are only five countries in the world that can build marine diesel engines one of which is Iran.”
