Tuesday, 21 December 2021 (YJC)_ Iranian Vice President for Legal Affairs blasted the passive approach of E3 in not being committed to their obligations.
In a meeting with German Ambassador to Tehran, Iranian Vice President for Legal Affairs Mohammad Dehqan blasted the passive approach of E3 in not being committed to their obligations.
“European sides of nuclear deal were silent and stood by while US was unilaterally violating JCPOA,” he said while noting the US administration us blamed for its acts regarding the deal and Iran expected European sides to play an active role in this regard.
“Nuclear deal was an international document; however, Europe merely stood by and watched US violating it, this is the act that will not be judged kindly,” he noted and highlighted the fact that “Iran has always welcomed negotiations and has never left the negotiating table.”
He finally said that Iran was committed to the deal while others were not and noted “Now that a new German government has been inaugurated, we hope we can reach a balanced deal through more active participation of Europeans in Vienna talks.”
Prior to this, Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Saeed Khatibzadeh told reporters that he rejects any direct talks taken place during negotiations in Vienna.
Currently, the Iranian official is in Vienna to attend negotiations on lifting sanctions against Iran.
Two weeks ago, it is announced that the 8th round of Vienna talks between Iran and P4+1 has started in Coburg Hotel.
“The removal of the sanctions imposed by the US on Iran after its unilateral withdrawal from the nuclear deal” is the main aim of the current talks.
Last week, Iran's top nuclear negotiator in Vienna talks Ali Bagheri Kani announced that discussions will be resumed after a few days’ break.
