Sardar Abbas Nilforoshan, IRGC Deputy Chief of Operations, announced the start of the exercise:
This exercise is carried out in order to increase the level of combat readiness of the IRGC and is based on the simulation of one of the most advanced offensive plans in combined wars and in the complexity of hard, semi-hard and soft wars.
The spokesman for the 17th Prophet's rehearsal added:
In this exercise, the IRGC naval and air forces together with the cyber-electronic organization in the coastal region of Hormozgan, Bushehr and part of Khuzestan will carry out offensive operations and infiltration at the strategic level to destroy the offensive bases of the hypothetical enemy.
He continued:
The Basij will also provide manpower for naval mobilization and ground combat. Also, in this exercise, some systems and weapons that have just been handed over to the forces will be used in accordance with the tactics of the exercise.
