Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoglu said today (Sunday) on the fifth anniversary of the assassination of then-Russian Ambassador to Ankara Andrei Karlov (December 19, 2015) that some "centers of power" are seeking to darken Turkey's relations with Russia.
In an interview with Sputnik, he said that after the assassination of the Russian ambassador, it became clear that some centers of power were seeking to destroy Turkey's relations with Russia. Çavuşo .lu called the further strengthening of relations between Ankara and Moscow the best way to honor and commemorate Andrei Karlov.
The Turkish Foreign Minister emphasized:
Relations between Russia and Russia after the assassination of the Moscow ambassador have witnessed a profound change in the level of bilateral cooperation and in the region, and the two countries continue to develop their relations in all fields, especially in the fields of trade, energy, culture and so on.
Çavuşoglu also announced that the trade volume between the two countries will reach $ 30 billion in 2022. According to him, about five million Russian tourists visit Turkey every year.
