The Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Hossein Amir-Abdollahian, who arrived in the Pakistani capital Islamabad this morning (Sunday) to attend the 17th emergency meeting of the OIC Foreign Ministers on Afghanistan, told reporters about the message of the meeting:
This summit must send an important message to the people of Afghanistan, and that is that the people of Afghanistan must be supported by the international community on the eve of the cold season and in the difficult conditions they are in, and that humanitarian aid must flow to Afghanistan.
The head of the diplomatic service reminded:
Every day, about 5,000 refugees from Afghanistan travel to the borders of Iran and some neighboring countries, which could lead to a humanitarian catastrophe inside the country and have adverse consequences.
Amir-Abdollahian pointed out:
If Afghanistan is not secure and does not have political and security stability, it will have an adverse effect on the region.
He continued:
In order to achieve a secure Afghanistan, we need an inclusive government with the participation of all Afghan ethnic groups, and in this summit and in the consultations that we will have and in our efforts to reach out to all Afghan parties, including the Afghan interim governing body, Let us encourage all parties to bring peace, stability and security to Afghanistan through this political solution and to witness its positive effects on the security, stability and development of the region.
