Thursday, 16 December 2021 (YJC)_ A number of senior Israeli army officers and officials of the regime's security establishment called for the use of relative calm in the Gaza Strip to exchange prisoners with Hamas.
Israeli security officials said talks had stalled despite Cairo's efforts to mediate the exchange of prisoners with Hamas.
According to the officials, the reason for the suspension of the prisoner exchange talks is that both Israel and Hamas are not willing to accept the terms of the return of the bodies of "Hader Goldin" and "Oron Shaul" as well as the release of "Avra Mengisto" and "Hisham Al-Sayed" two Israeli citizens. When they entered Gaza, they turned a blind eye.
According to Israeli officials, Palestinian prisoners of war and their families have pressured Hamas to exchange prisoners with the regime.
