Tuesday, 14 December 2021 (YJC)_ The head of the Atomic Energy Organization said: "Yesterday, we unveiled three new radiopharmaceuticals that are essential for the treatment of society."
"Mohammad Eslami," the head of the Atomic Energy Organization, said this morning (Tuesday) at a seminar on the development of the use of radiation in the food industry:
We have a wide range of agendas on food security and capacity building from farm to fork, which can be done using nuclear technology in the field of radiation. The volume of waste in food and agricultural products is very high, and if we want to prevent waste, this is the step that helps both increase productivity and reduce the cost and waste.
He added:
Regardless of the political implications for Iran's food exports, the lack of capacity to discuss the development of nuclear applications has led you to hear in recent weeks that many of our products have been returned.
Islami said:
Based on studies, 12 poles in the country have been identified based on the comprehensive design that exists in the development of the application of radiation and we are ready to cooperate with loved ones who are interested in investing and partnering with the Atomic Energy Organization in this process.
The head of the Atomic Energy Organization added:
Unfortunately, we have neglected the economic effects of nuclear technology, and today in the world we are known in the field of nuclear enrichment and we are accused of enrichment, and every day we defend that we are not looking for nuclear weapons. And our national security strategy does not define such a step, when we do not explain and operate the scope of use of radiation, they point the finger of blame at us.
The vice president referred to the production of radiopharmaceuticals and said:
Yesterday, we unveiled three new radiopharmaceuticals that are essential for the treatment sector of the society, and God willing, the research institute will provide these radiopharmaceuticals to Pars Isotope Company to carry out additional activities to obtain a license and enter the chain of radiopharmaceuticals that can be used in the medical sector.
He noted the widespread efforts to use nuclear energy to generate electricity and desalination plants.
A $ 40 billion investment is needed to provide 10,000 megawatts of nuclear power so that we can expand our nuclear power plants over the next 15 years.
Eslami also referred to the development of research capacities and the development of manpower in the nuclear field, and said that the organization would pay special attention to this issue.
The head of the Atomic Energy Organization announced the organization's readiness to cooperate in the field of food industry and agriculture.
