Monday, 13 December 2021 (YJC)_ The police commander of Sistan and Baluchistan province announced seizing over 103 tons of drugs in 8 months.

Over 103 Tons of Drugs Seized in SE Iran in 8 MonthsIn a statement on Monday, the police commander of Sistan and Baluchistan province Brigadier General Ahmad Taheri announced seizing over 103 tons of drugs in 8 months.

“Among the top priorities of the Sistan and Baluchistan province police is fighting against drug trafficking,” he said while announcing that “in the current Iranian year, 53 drug-trafficking bands were dismantled following the intelligence activities of the anti-narcotics police forces.”

“4,786 anti-narcotic operations were carried out and 103.5 tons were confiscated,” he said and noted “10 smugglers were killed in the armed clashes between the police forces and drug traffickers during the operations.”

He went on to add that “574 vehicles and motorcycles were seize by police forces, and 59 kinds of weapons and ammunition were confiscated.”

General Ahmad Taheri finally said “1,519 culprits were also arrested and handed to the judiciary offices of Sistan and Baluchistan province.”
