Monday, 13 December 2021 (YJC)_ The UN Special Representative for Syria met with the Lebanese President to discuss efforts to find a political solution to the Syrian crisis.
UN Special Representative for Syria Geer Pederson met with Lebanese President Michel Aoun at the head of a delegation.
According to the Lebanese presidency's Twitter page, during the meeting, Michel Aoun was briefed on efforts to find a political solution to the Syrian crisis.
Pederson also traveled to Syria yesterday (Sunday) to meet with Syrian Foreign Minister Faisal al-Maqdad.
According to the publication, he said after meeting with Al-Muqaddad:
During consultations with Arab, American and European officials, I felt the possibility of a gradual opening of contacts with Syria.
