EU foreign policy chief Joseph Borrell announced Thursday morning that he had made a telephone call to Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian.
Borrell wrote on his Twitter page:
Today, on the eve of the next round of the the JCPOA talks, which will take place tomorrow in Vienna, I spoke with Iranian Foreign Minister Amir Abdollahian, at his request.
He explained about the important point he said in contact with Amir-Abdollahian:
I expressed the sense of urgency, that in order to restore the agreement we must move forward in the negotiations faster.
A new round of talks between Iran and the P4+1 group on lifting US sanctions against Iran was held in Vienna last week, and Iran presented two documents to the other side on lifting sanctions and the nuclear issue, at the request of European parties to consult with their capitals. The two documents were scheduled to breathe a sigh of relief during the talks and resume this week, which will resume in Vienna on Thursday, according to an agreement reached between Bagheri and Mora.
Earlier, US envoy to Iran Robert Mali, referring to telephone conversations with Russian, Chinese and Gulf Cooperation Council officials, said they would continue to work together to achieve their goals based on the progress made in the first six rounds of the Vienna talks. .
