Wednesday, 8 December 2021 (YJC)_ The Iranian intelligence ministry announced that it has blocked accounts that it believes have been used to do illegal trading of foreign currencies.

“Over 700 banking accounts have been identified and blocked over suspicious trade of foreign currencies,” the statement said.
“Anti-smuggling department had coordinated the freezing of the accounts with the Central Bank of Iran (CBI),” it added while noting that “In the past nine months, the turnover of some of these accounts had amounted to 200 trillion rials.”
“A list of account holders had been submitted to the Iranian judiciary for prosecution,” it continued while saying that the ministry will continue to constantly monitor suspicious bank accounts.
