Tuesday, 7 December 2021 (YJC)_ Emphasizing that Iran has a definite right to determine its position, the Russian representative to the Vienna-based international organizations said that the Islamic Republic was looking for a comprehensive, not temporary, solution.

Ulyanov: Iran wants a comprehensive, not temporary, solutionIn response to recent remarks by Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian about the interim agreement, Mikhail Ulyanov, Russia's permanent representative to international organizations based in the Austrian capital Vienna, stated that Iran has the definite right to determine its position. Iran expects a comprehensive solution without delay.

Amir-Abdollahian stated yesterday (Monday) in a joint press conference with Syrian Foreign Minister Faisal al-Maqdad regarding the other side's proposals for an interim agreement:
We do not consider the interim agreement a good one for our country. The agreement must be comprehensive, and it must be an agreement that the Islamic Republic of Iran and the people make tangible use of the economic benefits of the JCPOA and the lifting of sanctions. With the same approach, our team will return to Vienna in the coming days. Most of our team is currently in Vienna and will continue their expert discussions.

Reacting to the remarks of the head of the diplomatic corps of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Ulyanov said:
Certainly, there is no contradiction between temporary and comprehensive agreements, but it is Iran's inalienable right to determine its position. This probably indicates that Tehran expects a comprehensive solution without interruption.
