Monday, 6 December 2021 (YJC)_ The Iranian foreign ministry released a statement in which it is announced that an agreement can be reached on the nuclear deal only if the US leaves its policy of maximum pressure and the EU prove its political determination.

Foreign Ministry: Agreement Accessible if US Abandons Pressure Policy, Europe Proves DeterminationIn a statement on his twitter account, the Iranian foreign ministry announced that an agreement can be reached on the nuclear deal only if the US leaves its policy of maximum pressure and the EU prove its political determination.

“It is crystal clear that the US reluctance to fully drop the sanctions is the main challenge for the progress of negotiations,” foreign ministry wrote while adding that “We believe that anytime the US administration abandons the maximum pressure campaign, and Europeans demonstrate necessary political determination, the way will be opened for the swift attainment of an agreement.”

It finally noted “They are not willing in the first place to give such concessions which are clearly asserted by the JCPOA, and secondly they are not willing to re-negotiate the matters that were propounded in last drafts.”

Last week, the seventh round of JCPOA talks was held in Vienna with the presence of Ali Bagheri Kani as Iranian top negotiator.

After that, Iran's lead negotiator announced that in detailed draft documents given to signatories of the nuclear deal, Iran explicitly said that it wants the complete removal of all unilateral and cruel US sanctions.

In a relevant message, Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir Abdollahian said the top priority in JCPOA talks for Iran is sanctions’ removal.

Prior to that, last Monday and while speaking to reporters after Vienna talks, the Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister Ali Bagheri Kani, said the previous rounds of Vienna talks were only a “draft”.

Also, in a separate remark, Iranian Foreign Minister said that any agreement achieved in Vienna talks should guarantee implementation of the other sides’ undertakings based on the nuclear deal.
