Monday, 6 December 2021 (YJC)_ A Foreign Ministry spokesman said the next round of talks would begin in Vienna this weekend: We are not in a hurry and we do not allow anyone to play with our time and energy in Vienna. The team will leave for Vienna with the determination of a good agreement and we hope that the other side will come with the same determination.

Khatibzadeh: In the Vienna talks, there is no such thing as a step-by-step plan or an interim agreement.Saeed Khatibzadeh, spokesman for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran, today (Monday) in a weekly meeting with reporters, while explaining the latest developments in the field of foreign policy, answered reporters' questions.

Regarding the existence of a so-called step-by-step plan in the Vienna talks, he said: "In Vienna, we presented and are negotiating on the basis of drafts for the lifting of sanctions and how to stop Iran's compensatory measures."

There is no such thing as a step-by-step agreement or temporary plans.

We arrived in Vienna with serious will. We see a good deal in terms of the commitments that everyone around us has in the JCPOA. The fact that the delegation was sent showed that the main goal is for the same group in Tehran, which has to make several round trips, to decide on the dimensions of the sanctions.

Perhaps the other side basically did not expect the Iranian team to give them ready-made texts in an approach that would lead to a good deal in the shortest possible time. Everything that was written in these texts was based on JCPOA and the draft of the previous 6 rounds, and basically it could not have been the maximum, but the approach of the United States and the European parties to fulfill their obligations is minimal. So they asked to return to their capitals and consult.

It is important that the other side, like Iran, comes up with specific proposals. What we have given is certainly negotiable and it is a misconception that the other side only makes media statements and thinks it can play a guilty game. We are not in a hurry and we do not allow anyone to play with our time and energy in Vienna.

The talks will resume this weekend and the exact date will be confirmed in the conversation between Mr. Bagheri and Mora.
