Hisham Qasim, the head of Hamas's information department outside the Kuwaiti government, welcomed the decision to ban merchant ships carrying Israeli goods in Kuwaiti waters.
He said Kuwait's decision is in line with Kuwait's long-standing policies aimed at helping Palestine and its just cause.
Qasim stated that Hamas welcomes Kuwait's position because it is in line with the sanctions imposed by the occupying regime, which the Arab League has adopted since the 1950s.
According to the Anatolian News Agency, the head of Hamas's information department abroad also said that Kuwait's decision is in line with the official approaches of the country to help Palestine in all political, diplomatic, parliamentary and international circles.
He stressed that this position of Kuwait confirms the view of Hamas that despite the wave of compromises with the Zionist regime, there is still a lot of good in this nation.
Qasim also called on Arab and Islamic countries to follow Kuwait's example in besieging the occupying regime and preventing the regime from abusing its ports for export and import.
