Friday, 3 December 2021 (YJC)_ In a telephone conversation with Borrell, Amir Abdullahian said: "The West should present its real initiative in ending the sanctions and end the repetition of previous slogans that violate the rights and interests of the Iranian people."

Amir-Abdollahian addresses Borrell: West should take real initiative to end sanctionsEU foreign policy chief and coordinator of the Vienna talks, Joseph Borrell, spoke by telephone this morning (Friday) with Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian about the ongoing negotiations in Vienna between Iran and the P4+1 group.

Joseph Borrell called the event important, as all negotiating delegations from Germany, China, Russia, France, Britain, and especially the Islamic Republic of Iran are now working hard to reach an agreement in Vienna.

He added: "I have emphasized to Enrique Mora to work constructively and actively with the senior Iranian negotiator and all delegations to reach an agreement."

He called for flexibility on all sides in the continuation of the talks.

Borrell expressed satisfaction with the start of negotiations and his and his colleagues' readiness in the European Union to help resolve the issue.

Amir-Abdollahian, while thanking the efforts of the EU foreign policy chief and his colleagues, called the negotiation process generally good, but slow.

He added:
The Iranian delegation is actively present at the negotiating table with good faith, necessary authority and achievable and forward-looking initiatives.

Amir-Abdollahian emphasized:
The goal of our participation in any negotiation and action is to completely end the sanctions that violate the JCPOA.

Emphasizing the commitment of the Islamic Republic of Iran to technical cooperation with the International Atomic Energy Agency, he added:
In addition to Mr. Bagheri's talks and meetings, Iranian experts are also holding technical and specialized talks with the P5 + 1 in the form of the Sanctions Ending Committee and the Nuclear Committee.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs of our country, referring to some issues raised in the recent negotiations, reminded:
Despite the breach of the US treaty and the inaction of the three European countries, we are present in the Vienna talks in good faith. Our team has clear, tangible and practical plans and initiatives at every stage. The West must also take its real initiative in ending the sanctions and put an end to the repetition of previous slogans that violate the rights and interests of the Iranian people.

He added:
We believe that a good agreement is available, but it requires a change in the approach of some parties from the literature of threat to the literature of cooperation, mutual respect and results.

Borrell and Amir-Abdollahian praised the current atmosphere in the Vienna talks.
