The Palestinian Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) has praised Malaysia's opposition to any normalization of relations with the Zionist regime and its opposition to the entry of its squash players into Malaysia.
The World Squash Championships in Malaysia were canceled after the country refused to provide visas to Zionist athletes.
According to Al-Ahd, the Hamas statement reads:
The movement praises the historic commitment of the King, Government and people of Malaysia to oppose all forms of normalization with the Zionist regime, which Malaysia has repeatedly emphasized in recent years, and emphasizes its appreciation of Malaysia's firm stance on the opposition.
Hamas stressed the movement's solidarity with Malaysia in gaining the right to host the tournament and other international events without the acceptance of Zionist delegations, and said it regretted that the International Squash Federation had revoked Malaysia's right to host the tournament.
At the end of this statement:
The Zionist regime, which has invaded the land and people of Palestine, violated the sanctuary and committed any crime against the Palestinian youth, and seeks to destroy the Palestinian sports sector, is not worthy of appearing in the international community. Rather, it must be held accountable for its crimes and prosecuted in all areas.
