At least three people were shot dead during gun violence at a mall in North Carolina, according to the report.

According to Patrice Andrews, director of the Durham Police Department, police arrived at the scene after receiving reports of a shooting at the mall.

According to the US police official, the two groups of people involved in the shooting at the South Point Shopping Mall already knew each other.

Durham police officers reportedly found three people injured in the shooting and sent them to hospital for treatment.

A 10-year-old boy was among the wounded in the shooting, but his injuries were not serious and his life was not in danger.

North Carolina Police Chief Durham strongly criticized the continuing armed violence, saying:
The shootings in this city must stop. It must be stopped.
