Saturday, 27 November 2021 (YJC)_ Regarding the US response to Russia's possible action against Ukraine, the US Assistant Secretary of State said that all options regarding Moscow are on the table.
Assistant Secretary of State for European and Eurasian Affairs Karen Dunfried said Friday that she had consulted with Ukrainian officials about Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky's alleged plot against him.
Speaking in a telephone interview, she added:
We are working to get more information. This is where we are now and interacting with our Ukrainian partners.
Asked about options available to counter possible Russian action against Ukraine, the US Assistant Secretary of State said:
As you can see, all the options are on the table.
Jens Stoltenberg, the secretary general of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization, also threatened on Friday that Russia would face serious consequences if it used force against Ukraine.
Stoltenberg called on Russia to reconsider its decision to close NATO offices and expel its diplomats from Moscow.
She claimed that Russia had deployed heavy equipment and large combat forces near the Ukrainian border.
