Saeed Khatibzadeh, spokesman for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, stated today (Thursday) in response to a question about the latest status of cooperation between the Islamic Republic of Iran and the Organization of Islamic Cooperation:
Our country congratulates the new Secretary General of this organization "Hossein Ibrahim Taha" and wishes him success in his new responsibility.
A State Department spokesman added:
In separate messages to the President Dr. Ra'isi and the Minister of Foreign Affairs Dr. Amir Abdullahian, the new Secretary General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation has announced his readiness to strengthen cooperation with the Islamic Republic of Iran.
Khatibzadeh clarified:
Given that the Organization of Islamic Cooperation has enormous potential to achieve the unity of the Islamic Ummah and the pure and sublime principles and values of Islam, we hope to see a significant increase in these efforts and its tangible fruit in securing the common interests of the Islamic Ummah and governments. Be a member of the organization in the field of international interactions.
A spokesman for the Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs added:
While appreciating the efforts of the former Secretary General of the Organization, Ahmad bin Al-Uthaymeen, to promote and strengthen the unity and solidarity of the member states, we are fully prepared for the term of the new Secretary General based on the principle of guaranteeing equal opportunities for full and free participation and participation of all members. Khatibzadeh emphasized:
On the issue of Palestine and countering the aggressive actions of the Zionist regime in the confiscation of Palestinian property and assets, it is necessary to use the capacities of this organization in order to confront the unfortunate current called "normalization" and to overthrow the Zionist regime by further consolidating unity and Consensus among the member states of the organization to take action against this regime.
