Tuesday, 23 November 2021 (YJC)_ The President called on the Secretary-General of the ECO to adopt appropriate measures to activate the capacity and enhance the level of economic cooperation of the ECO member countries.
Hojatoleslam Seyyed Ibrahim Raeisi on Tuesday in a meeting with "Khosrow Nazeri" Secretary General of the Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO) considered the identification and removal of obstacles and problems to increase the level of relations and cooperation between member countries on the eve of the ECO Summit, said:
Any obstacles and problems in the development of cooperation must be removed so that the exchanges and economic relations of the ECO member countries can be carried out at a higher and superior level.
Raeisi pointed out:
Each member of the ECO has a lot of economic potential in various fields, the activation of which can lead to economic prosperity in the region.
Referring to the capacities of the ECO member countries in the fields of energy, trade, transport, digital economy, maritime economy and tourism, the President said:
Comprehensive plans and actions of the ECO Secretariat to activate these capacities can lead to the economic prosperity of the region and the development and prosperity of ECO member countries.
Hojatoleslam Raeisi emphasized that the Islamic Republic of Iran supports the activation and development of ECO activities, adding:
Tehran attaches special importance to regional cooperation in the form of the Economic Cooperation Organization and supports such activities.
