Tuesday, 23 November 2021 (YJC)_ The Deputy Assistant Secretary-General for Europe at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Director General for Foreign Affairs of Portugal discussed bilateral relations, regional issues and developments in the forthcoming talks in Vienna.
The Iranian ambassador to Portugal, Morteza Daman Pak Jami, wrote on his personal Twitter page on Tuesday:
Iran-Portugal political consultations were held in Lisbon in the presence of the Assistant Minister and Director General of Western Europe of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran and the Director General of Portuguese Foreign Policy.
He continued this tweet:
While reviewing bilateral relations and emphasizing the use of all available capacities to expand relations in various fields, the two sides discussed important regional issues, including developments in Afghanistan, Iraq, Lebanon, Yemen, Syria and the Persian Gulf.
The Iranian ambassador to Portugal noted:
Senior Iranian and Portuguese diplomats also discussed developments in the upcoming talks in Vienna, the need for full lifting of illegal sanctions against Iran, the full commitment of all parties to the implementation of the nuclear deal, and the importance of diplomacy.
